Kate Middleton left ‘alarmed’ and ‘frightened’ following family ordeal

Kate Middleton was reportedly “alarmed” to learn about the depth of her brother James Middleton’s struggles with mental health, according to a magazine source.

James, 38, has spoken publicly in recent years as an advocate for mental health, revealing that he once battled severe depression and even experienced suicidal thoughts. He has also shared his challenges growing up with dyslexia, ADD, and anxiety.

Recently, in an interview with The Times, James mentioned that Kate — who was diagnosed with cancer last year — has been going through a “challenging” period, but has received strong family support. Sources now say that during James’s own difficult moments, he leaned heavily on both Kate and their sister Pippa for support.

Kate Middleton ‘Worried’ About Her Younger Brother

According to Closer, both Kate and Prince William have been a steady source of support for James.

“Kate has always been incredibly close to James, so it’s only natural that she was very upset and concerned when he was going through a hard time,” a source revealed.

James experienced a serious mental health crisis in 2017. During that difficult period, it was Kate and her sister who stepped in, attending family therapy sessions with him throughout his year-long cognitive behavioural therapy.

Kate has always been ready to help without hesitation.

The insider described her as James’ “rock,” saying: “They’re constantly in touch — talking and texting, sometimes late into the night. James knows that if he ever needs anything, Kate will drop everything to be there for him. That kind of support means the world to him.”

Kate’s Kindness and Strength

Despite dealing with her own health challenges after being diagnosed with cancer, Kate has continued to carry herself with grace and strength, even while stepping back from public duties to focus on her recovery.

The royal family has also faced another blow, with King Charles receiving a separate cancer diagnosis.

Even so, an insider praised Kate for her unwavering empathy and dedication to others.

They shared: “It speaks volumes for Kate’s compassion and selflessness that she has been able to be so supportive to her brother despite everything that was going on in her own life, but that’s just her nature. She’ll always do everything in her power to keep her family together.”
