Trooping the Colour: Prince Louis’ sweet three-word ‘question’ to brother George

Prince Louis shared a charming moment with his older brother, Prince George, during this year’s Trooping the Colour, according to a lip-reading expert.

The royal family stepped out under clear skies for King Charles’ official birthday parade in London. Crowds lined the streets surrounding Buckingham Palace, hoping for a glimpse of the royals during the grand celebration.

At the start of the festivities, the Princess of Wales, 43, was seen riding in a carriage alongside her three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.

Prince William, 42, rode on horseback, joined by his sister Princess Anne and brother Prince Edward. King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, were also seen travelling in a separate carriage.

Louis and George’s Sweet Exchange

As the royal procession made its way from Buckingham Palace down The Mall toward Horse Guards Parade, Kate and her children waved warmly to the cheering crowds.

George and Louis sat beside each other during the ride and were seen exchanging quiet words as the parade unfolded.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling, speaking with The Sun, revealed a tender moment between the brothers. According to her, Louis asked, “Should I wave?”

George is said to have replied, “It’s up to you, I can’t believe how sunny it is.”

Louis then added, “Let’s do it together.”

Matching Style Moments for Kate and Charlotte

Another highlight of the day came from the coordinated fashion of the Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte. Kate chose a stunning turquoise Catherine Walker dress, accessorized with a matching hat by Juliette Botterill that featured delicate blue floral accents.

Charlotte mirrored her mother’s look in a sweet aqua blue dress with puffed sleeves, creating a lovely mother-daughter fashion moment.

Royal fans were quick to comment online. One person wrote on X, “Oh wow so beautiful!!! I love that our Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte are matching.”

Another added, “Love how Princess Catherine has matched her Trooping the Colour outfit to Princess Charlotte’s dress.”

Why King Charles’ Birthday Parade Is Held in June

Although King Charles was born on November 14, the official birthday parade traditionally takes place in June. This royal custom, now more than 260 years old, is primarily due to Britain’s more favorable summer weather.

Each year, Trooping the Colour brings together more than 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians, and 200 horses in a ceremonial display of pageantry.

For the 2025 event, King Charles made a meaningful last-minute change to the ceremony in remembrance of those who perished in this week’s tragic Air India plane crash.

A minute of silence was observed at Horse Guards Parade. In a visible tribute, both the King and the Prince of Wales wore black armbands with their military uniforms. Members of the Royal Mews and mounted officers also wore armbands as a sign of mourning.
