Lip reader reveals what Prince William said during intense moment following Euros win

England’s Lionesses made history once again on Sunday, 27 July, by winning the 2025 Women’s Euros in Basel, Switzerland. The dramatic final against Spain ended in a 1-1 draw and went to penalties, where forward Chloe Kelly scored the decisive kick that sealed England’s victory.

In the stands, Prince William and his 10-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte were seen celebrating every moment. Charlotte was spotted throwing her arms up in delight when England equalized in the second half. The father-daughter pair were clearly enjoying themselves as they cheered the team on to victory.

Following the match, Prince William, who serves as patron of the Football Association, took part in the medal ceremony. He shook hands, handed out medals, and offered warm hugs to the players in recognition of their efforts.

Words of praise for the Lionesses

One moment stood out when William congratulated Chloe Kelly, the hero of the shootout. According to a professional lip reader quoted by The Mirror, he told her, “That kick was no nonsense, well done you, honestly, fantastic.”

The Prince also shared kind words with young star Michelle Agyemang, who was named the tournament’s best young player. He reportedly said, “Michelle, well done, honestly, you played a good tournament, you are so inspirational to Charlotte, well done.”

William didn’t stop there. He praised manager Sarina Wiegman, who secured her second consecutive Euros title, saying, “We get to do it again, well done, hey, amazing. Penalties to take it, eh?”

A celebration beyond the pitch

After the match, William and Charlotte’s pride continued on social media. On their official account, he posted:

“What a game! Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe, and we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment, England. W & Charlotte.”

King Charles III also released a heartfelt message, celebrating the team’s achievement and encouraging them to aim for the 2027 World Cup.

With their latest victory, the Lionesses became the first women’s team to defend their European title — and their journey continues to inspire fans across the country.
