Royal Expert Says Prince Harry’s Fallout with William Is a ‘Different Beast’ Than Rift With Charles

Since stepping down as a senior royal in 2020 and relocating to the US, Prince Harry’s ties with King Charles and Prince William have fractured.

His explosive interviews and tell-all memoir, filled with damaging allegations against the royal family, only deepened the divide. While Charles is said to still miss his “darling boy,” William has been far less forgiving of his younger brother’s public criticisms.

Royal expert Kristen Meinzer believes Harry’s feud with William will be much harder to repair than his strained relationship with his father.

The King vs. The Brother

Although Harry has spoken openly about his grievances, Charles and William have stayed silent. Reflecting on the dynamic, Meinzer told *Us Weekly*, “I think that Harry’s relationship with his brother is a different beast than his relationship with his father. But perhaps if Charles warms more to Harry, William will feel compelled to follow his lead.”

Her comments came shortly after reports of a “secret summit” between Harry’s private secretary, Meredith Maines, and Charles’s communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae. They were even spotted with Liam Maguire, who leads the Sussexes’ UK PR team, fueling speculation about possible peace talks.

Efforts to Reconnect With Charles

In what appears to be an effort to ease tensions with his father, Harry has reportedly agreed to share his official schedule to avoid clashes with key royal events. Meinzer noted, “It shows that things have not completely broken down between father and son, and that Harry, in particular, wants to mend fences.”

This came after Harry’s trip to Angola stole headlines on Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday, and his appearance in China at the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference coincided with Charles and Camilla’s state visit to Canada—moves interpreted by some as overshadowing royal milestones.

William’s Stance: No Forgiveness

Unlike Charles, William is said to be resolute in his refusal to forgive. A source told the outlet, “William doesn’t talk about Harry anymore. Everyone knows it’s a subject that they shouldn’t bring up, so he hasn’t brought up the interview and won’t… When he becomes King, everybody thinks the divide will become even wider.”

Royal author Christopher Anderson explained why Charles has remained quiet despite Harry’s accusations, saying, “The Palace does not want to give oxygen to Harry’s remarks. King Charles has a lot on his plate as it is — there is no upside to his getting into a public quarrel with his son.”

Kate and William Opposed to Peace Talks

Meanwhile, William and Kate Middleton are said to be firmly against reconciliation. A friend of the couple told the *Daily Mail*, “They \[William and Middleton] were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution. The fact that it ended up in the newspapers tells you all you need to know.”

Reports also suggest William has lost all trust in both Harry and Meghan Markle, particularly after their repeated decision to air private grievances in public forums.
