Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently causing a stir online and igniting controversy with his statement that heaven is simply a “fantasy.”
The Terminator star recently shared his candid views on what happens after death, and his strong beliefs do not paint an optimistic picture. His remarks have sparked outrage among many, particularly when he asserted that anyone who believes in the afterlife is a “f****** liar.”
While Schwarzenegger is no stranger to controversy, his recent comments have reignited a heated discussion about our fate after leaving this world. At 75, one might expect Arnie to be more inclined to believe in the prospect of heaven. However, the former Governor of California insists that there is “nothing” to come…
In an interview with Interview Magazine, Schwarzenegger was candid when asked about the future.
“It reminds me of Howard Stern’s question to me,” Arnie responded. “‘Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die?’
“I said, ‘Nothing. You’re six feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f****** liar.’”
The former seven-time Mr. Olympia winner expressed that after we die, we will never perceive one another in the same way as we do now.
Arnie elaborated: “I said, ‘We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an expert in, but I know that the body as we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that.’”
Unsurprisingly, his remarks sparked significant anger among many. Social media quickly filled with backlash, and Arnie later confessed in the interview that he considers the notion of heaven to be simply “fantasy.”
He stated: “When people talk about, ‘I will see them again in heaven’, it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won’t see each other again after we’re gone.”
Schwarzenegger added: “That’s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t.”
According to reports, the bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned-politician is poised to reveal more in his forthcoming Netflix documentary, Arnold, which was released today, June 7.
