Kate Middleton Plans to Pamper Her Children After a “Terrifying” Year

Prince William and Kate Middleton spent the holidays with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, following a tough year for the family. Kate underwent cancer treatment, but now that she’s cancer-free, the family is focusing on spending quality time together.

In 2024, George, Charlotte, and Louis had special experiences, like George attending the UEFA Euro 2024 final with Prince William and Charlotte meeting Taylor Swift. Despite the fun, the year was filled with anxiety due to Kate’s diagnosis, which was shared with the children when they were on their Easter break.

King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold, suggested that Prince William and Kate likely explained the situation to their children in a sensitive and private manner.

How Prince William & Kate Middleton told their children about the princess’ cancer

Speaking to the NY Post, former royal butler Grant Harrold said Prince William and Kate likely “sugarcoated” Kate’s cancer news when explaining it to Prince Louis, who was only five.

Harrold noted that older siblings George and Charlotte likely received a more honest but positive version.
He praised William and Kate for staying calm, believing their attitude would help their children cope.

Kate Middleton announced she was cancer-free in September

Kate Middleton made a few public appearances last year, including Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon.
In September, she revealed she had completed chemotherapy, describing her cancer journey as “incredibly tough” for the whole family.

Kate shared that she now focuses on staying cancer-free, taking each day as it comes, and hopes to slowly return to work. She thanked everyone for their support and sent a message of solidarity to others battling cancer: “Out of darkness, can come light.”

Prince George, Princess Charlotte & Prince Louis received gifts from well-wishers

The Royal Family celebrated Christmas at Sandringham, with well-wishers greeting them on their way to church. Prince Louis, 6, received various gifts, including chocolates, flowers, and toys. When handed a Father Christmas headband, he politely thanked the giver and passed it to his family.

Amused by his son’s growing collection, Prince William joked, “You’ve got that as well?” At one point, Louis struggled to hold everything and asked, “Papa, can you carry some?”

After a challenging year, William and Kate reportedly “lavished” their children with gifts. Despite their limited public appearances, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis continue to charm royal fans.

Prince William and Kate Middleton aim to give them a normal childhood despite royal pressures.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward told Hello Magazine that the couple limits their kids’ public exposure in the digital age but still presents them when necessary.

Compared to past royals, George, Charlotte, and Louis live a more ordinary life with minimal staff, mainly spending time with their parents and longtime nanny Maria Borallo.

“Kate will be wanting to spoil” Prince George, Princess Charlotte & Prince Louis

Royal expert Ingrid Seward said Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are very close, sharing a bond through their similar ages, love of sports, and shared experiences.
After a tough 2024 for the Royal Family, Seward believes Kate Middleton and Prince William will treat their kids to special surprises in 2025, like a skiing trip and a big summer holiday, to lift their spirits after a difficult time.
