Kate Middleton ‘worries’ Prince William ‘will regret going too far with Harry and Meghan titles decision’

Kate Middleton is reportedly worried that Prince William may come to “regret” decisions regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, particularly surrounding the Sussexes’ royal titles.

Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan, 44, retained their ducal titles when they stepped back from royal duties in early 2020. As part of the so-called ‘Megxit,’ they agreed not to use their HRH privileges, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, were not officially recognized as prince and princess until their grandfather, King Charles, became monarch in 2022.

Behind-the-Scenes Royal Talks

According to Heat magazine, Kate, alongside William and possibly King Charles and Queen Camilla, was involved in private discussions during the Balmoral summer break about the future structure of the monarchy. The magazine claims “huge decisions” were discussed, with William reportedly advocating for a streamlined royal family.

Sources suggest William is determined to phase out Harry and Meghan completely, including stripping them of any remaining royal privileges and titles. While Kate is said to support her husband’s vision, she is reportedly concerned about the long-term consequences. An unnamed insider told Heat: “She worries William might regret going too far. Kate’s instincts are to protect relationships and leave a door open. But she’s realistic, too. If the decision is to cut Harry out completely, she knows there’s no coming back from that.”

Potential Rift and Royal Survival

Ultimately, the magazine suggests William’s focus is on the “survival” of the monarchy, envisioning a future that includes only himself, Kate, their children, and a small group of working royals. According to the source, “Harry and Meghan Markle just don’t fit into that vision anymore.”

Kate is reportedly saddened by the alleged rift between the brothers, but aware that tensions could escalate. The insider added: “Kate knows that if titles are removed, Harry will take it as nothing less than a direct attack on him and his family. There’s no way he’d see it as anything other than a humiliation. If that decision is made, ties will be severed.”
