King Charles is admitted to hospital amid his ongoing cancer battle

King Charles was briefly hospitalized on Thursday due to “temporary” side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment, according to reports.

Despite the health scare, the 76-year-old monarch was discharged and returned to Clarence House by Thursday evening, The Sun reported. As a result, his scheduled events for Friday were canceled.

“Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman stated.

“His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure, acting on medical advice, tomorrow’s diary programme will also be rescheduled.”

King Charles was briefly hospitalized Thursday after experiencing “temporary” side effects from his cancer treatment, according to reports.

Back at home, the king was reportedly in good health and carrying on with his royal duties.

According to The Sun, he was driven to the hospital in a regular car rather than an emergency vehicle, and Queen Camilla did not accompany him on the trip.

Charles had surgery for an enlarged prostate last year and later disclosed his cancer diagnosis in February.

However, his treatment has been progressing well. In December, the royal family announced that his condition had reached a “managed” phase.

Following the diagnosis last winter, Charles stepped away from public engagements until April.

His illness isn’t the only health battle to affect Buckingham Palace.

The 76-year-old monarch, however, was back at his Clarence House residence by Thursday night, the UK Sun reported.

Just two months after the King publicly shared his cancer diagnosis last year, Kate Middleton also revealed that she had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer.

She stepped away from the public eye for several months but later announced in September that she was cancer-free following treatment.

Just last week, during a visit to Northern Ireland, Charles referenced Winston Churchill while sharing words of encouragement for others battling cancer.

“Keep buggering on,” he said. “You just have to push on, don’t you?”
