Meghan Markle Jokes About Having a ‘Secret’ Third Child With Prince Harry: ‘If I Could…’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are the proud parents of two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The couple has long maintained that they planned to have only two kids, partly out of concern for the planet’s future.

However, in a playful moment on her Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan, Markle teased about a “secret” third child. While chatting with guest Chrissy Teigen, she jokingly introduced the name “Honsworth,” which she said was inspired by a May birth flower.

A Playful Exchange with Chrissy Teigen

The lighthearted scene unfolded as the two moms designed jewelry using flowers tied to their children’s birth months. PEOPLE reported that Markle said, “Let’s pick which flowers we want for our children’s birth months. Miles is May? So Miles and Archie were both Lily of the Valley. And Honsworth, this one.”

Teigen, puzzled, asked if Markle actually had a child named Honsworth. Laughing, Markle replied, “It’s my child you’ve never heard of. Honsworth? By the way, if I could have kept a secret like that, I mean, impressive. Isn’t that what that flower is called?” It turned out she had mixed up the May flower, Hawthorn, with “Honsworth,” as someone off-camera quickly corrected her.

Chrissy Teigen’s Funny Parenting Confession

Another lighthearted moment came when Teigen admitted she often forgets the birthdays of her four children with husband John Legend. According to HELLO!, she confessed, “I had to get a tattoo of their birthdays because I couldn’t remember.”

Markle laughed and responded, “Sweet!” as they tried to decode the tattoo together. Eventually, Legend was called in from another room to help. Later in the episode, Teigen and Markle wandered through the Duchess’s stunning flower garden, each carrying a stylish basket.

Harry’s Firm Stance on Family Size

While Meghan’s joke amused her guest, Prince Harry has previously been clear that he does not want more than two children. In a 2019 conversation with renowned primatologist Jane Goodall for Vogue, Harry reflected on environmental concerns.

Goodall remarked, “It is terrifying, especially as you’ve just had a baby.” Harry replied, “But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children.”

He added firmly, “Two, maximum!… And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

“Two, Is It”

The couple reinforced their family plans during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. HELLO! reported that Harry shared, “Any one or two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl, what more can you ask for?… We got the four of us and our two dogs.” Pregnant with Lilibet at the time, Meghan agreed wholeheartedly, affirming, “Two, is it!”
