Meghan Markle turned heads as she joined Prince Harry on the red carpet to be honored as “Humanitarians of the Year” at a glamorous New York City event.
Red Carpet Appearance
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out hand-in-hand in Manhattan on Thursday evening for Project Healthy Minds’ prestigious Humanitarians of the Year Awards. The pair, both dressed in coordinated black ensembles, smiled for photographers before heading inside to receive their award.
Meghan, 44, stunned in a sleek black Giorgio Armani pantsuit featuring a plunging neckline, accessorized with a matching Armani clutch. She completed her look with a bold gold necklace and her favorite Lorraine Schwartz diamond stud earrings. The Duchess also debuted a fresh hairstyle, pulling her long hair back into a chic ponytail.
Harry, 41, opted for a classic black tuxedo, perfectly complementing his wife’s sophisticated look.
Honored for Mental Health Advocacy
According to Project Healthy Minds, the Sussexes were recognized for their “global efforts in building a safer, more equitable digital world for families and youth, and their meaningful contributions to advancing mental well-being worldwide.”
Following the gala, Harry and Meghan are set to attend Project Healthy Minds’ fourth annual World Mental Health Day event on Friday. In partnership with their Archewell Foundation, they will also collaborate with the organization to produce a series of conversations on how individuals can create positive change.
In a joint statement, the couple shared:
“Working with families and young people to prioritise safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives. As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honoured to support them. We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we work together to shine a light on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time.”
A Subtle Royal Rivalry
The high-profile appearance came just as news broke that King Charles has partnered with Amazon Prime Video—Netflix’s main rival—for an upcoming environmental film. The move is notable since Netflix famously paid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a reported $100 million deal for their exclusive content and royal-themed projects.
