New video of ‘mystery’ girl spotted next to Prince William at Euros final released as her identity is revealed

On Sunday, July 27, the world celebrated as England’s Lionesses secured victory against Spain in a dramatic Women’s Euro 2025 final. After a 1-1 draw, England triumphed on penalties, bringing the trophy home and sending fans into a frenzy.

During the medal ceremony, Prince William — patron of the Football Association — congratulated the players. Standing beside him on the podium was a young girl who instantly captured the hearts of millions. Smiling from ear to ear, she shook hands with the champions, her excitement impossible to hide.

Who is Greta?

The girl was later identified as 12-year-old Greta from Switzerland. Greta lives with a genetic form of epilepsy diagnosed when she was just six months old. Despite the challenges, she has grown into a determined and cheerful young sports lover. Her passion spans football, basketball, horse riding, and swimming.

UEFA invited Greta to take part in the trophy ceremony at Basel’s St. Jakob-Park as a special guest. In a statement, the organization described her as “a cheerful, open-minded, and determined young girl with a great passion for sport,” adding that her perseverance made her an inspiring choice to join the celebrations.

Greta proudly wore a T-shirt representing the UEFA Foundation for Children, which works to defend the rights of underprivileged children and uses football to improve lives and help young people reach their potential.

Fans were quick to flood social media with praise. “Greta did fantastic!!” wrote one Instagram user. Another added, “What a champ! And getting a hug from CK!” A third simply said, “That was the most beautiful day for the girl — just super great!”

Greta’s presence reminded everyone of what football is truly about: unity, inspiration, and the power to make dreams come true.
