‘NOT RIGHT’: President Trump’s ‘power move’ in front of King Charles

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in Windsor, UK, where their state visit began with traditional ceremony and grandeur.

The couple was greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales before joining King Charles and Queen Camilla for a carriage procession through the castle’s private grounds.

A Remark to the Princess of Wales

As the introductions took place, Trump shook hands with Princess Kate and was overheard making a personal remark. “You’re beautiful, so beautiful,” he reportedly told the Princess of Wales, who was dressed in a deep maroon coat dress with a matching hat for the occasion.

The exchange drew mixed reactions, with some considering the comment flattering, while others labeled it a breach of etiquette during such a formal event. Critics online described it as “not right” for a state visit, suggesting the remark could be seen as overstepping royal protocol.

Ceremony at Windsor Castle

Following the greetings, the King and Queen joined the Trumps for a traditional horse-drawn carriage procession leading to Windsor Castle. The spectacle reflected the kind of pageantry the UK is famous for, with military musicians, precision marching, and flag displays marking the historic moment.

Once inside, the royal family welcomed the American visitors with a private luncheon and a chance to view selected treasures from the Royal Collection relating to US history.

A Lavish State Banquet

That evening, Windsor’s grand halls played host to a state banquet in honor of the American president. The glittering event brought together political leaders, dignitaries, and key figures from both nations.

King Charles opened the dinner with a carefully crafted speech, where he emphasized the strength of the US–UK alliance. In a notable gesture, he also referenced Australia, highlighting the broader ties of friendship that connect the nations within the Commonwealth and across the Atlantic.

Power and Protocol

While the day was filled with spectacle, observers noted moments where Trump’s behavior appeared to push the boundaries of royal tradition. The handshake with Kate and his direct compliment stood out, sparking debate over whether it was a display of charm or an example of his signature “power move” approach on the world stage.

For the royals, the visit was another demonstration of diplomacy through tradition — blending ceremonial grandeur with subtle reminders of the enduring, and sometimes delicate, nature of international relations.
