Prince William appeared to make dig at Prince Harry during royal visit amid ‘rift’ rumours

The Prince of Wales appeared to take a subtle jab at his estranged brother, Prince Harry, this week as their ongoing rift continues.

On Wednesday, 4 June, Prince William, 42, paid a visit to the Army Air Corps (AAC) in Wattisham, Suffolk — the same regiment once served by his younger brother.

In case you’ve forgotten, Harry joined the Blues and Royals at age 19 and later became an Apache helicopter co-pilot and gunner. His role took him to the front lines in Afghanistan.

Although this regiment had strong ties to Harry, William — who served in the Royal Air Force in his early years — was appointed Colonel-in-Chief of the AAC last year.

During his recent visit to the base, William is said to have made a comment that many believe was a veiled reference to the ongoing family tension.

During a short water break with some active-duty soldiers, Prince William reportedly asked (according to The Mail), “Is the pace of life good at the moment? Families okay? See you enough?”

Before anyone could answer, the father of three joked, “Some of them might not want to see you that much. It’s a mixed bag sometimes.”

It’s unclear whether William was simply being playful — or if the remark was a subtle jab at his younger brother Harry, who stepped down from royal duties in 2020.

Since Harry’s move to the U.S. with Meghan Markle, the two brothers have seen very little of each other.

After leaving royal life behind, Harry and Meghan publicly accused the monarchy of mistreatment, specifically calling out Prince William and Kate Middleton.

In a revealing memoir, multiple high-profile TV interviews, and a Netflix documentary, the couple shared a series of claims, accusing Prince William and Princess Kate of mistreating Meghan.

Among the allegations, Harry said that Kate, 43, made Meghan cry following a disagreement over the 2018 wedding. He also claimed that William physically pushed him to the ground during a heated exchange about Meghan — whom William reportedly never approved of from the beginning.

The two couples haven’t been seen together publicly since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

Reports also suggest that William and Harry kept their distance during King Charles III’s coronation in May 2023.

Speaking to the BBC last month, the Duke of Sussex admitted that while things aren’t going well, he still hopes for reconciliation with his family. He emphasized that he no longer wants conflict.

“I would love reconciliation with my family,” Harry said, acknowledging “so many disagreements” behind the scenes.

“There’s no point continuing to fight any more — life is precious,” he added. “I don’t know how much longer my father has.

You know, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. But it would be nice to reconcile.”
