Princess Lilibet is a real-life Ariel with little mermaid cake on secret birthday trip to Disneyland

Princess Lilibet marked her fourth birthday with a low-key family outing to Disneyland in California.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, posted a video montage on Instagram capturing moments from the celebration, which showed the Sussex family enjoying park attractions and meeting beloved Disney characters.

One highlight was a glimpse of Lilibet’s two-tier birthday cake, which featured an Ariel design from The Little Mermaid. Another clip captured Lilibet and her six-year-old brother Archie meeting Elsa from Frozen.

The video began with Lilibet leading her father through the entrance gates of the park. Later segments showed the family on a log flume ride and Lilibet enjoying Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

Meghan, 43, appeared in Minnie Mouse ears, while Prince Harry, 40, was spotted on several rides, including one where he wore Mickey Mouse ears.

The family took in several attractions, including Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Star Cruiser, and Radiator Springs Racers, inspired by the Cars franchise. They were also shown watching a Star Wars stage performance alongside Archie.

One touching image showed Harry embracing Archie, while Meghan held Lilibet’s hand. The children’s faces were obscured with heart emojis or turned away from the camera in all footage, maintaining their privacy.

The Disneyland outing drew nostalgic comparisons to a childhood trip Prince Harry took in 1993. That summer, Princess Diana took Harry and Prince William to Walt Disney World in Florida. Images from that visit showed eight-year-old Harry sitting at the front of a Splash Mountain log flume, with Diana riding behind him.

Meghan captioned the recent Disneyland video, “Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!”

The post came alongside a series of uploads marking Lilibet’s birthday.

One featured a black and white photo of Meghan cuddling her daughter. Another showed Meghan dancing while pregnant, with a note that she had once twerked to help induce labor in 2021.

In the birthday video, one clip showed a beaming Harry enjoying the Buzz Lightyear ride with Lilibet. Meghan previously described their relationship by writing, “Daddy’s little girl and favourite adventurer. Happy birthday Lili!”

She also posted photos of Harry and Lilibet, commenting on “the sweetest bond to watch unfold.”

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021, in California. Her name pays tribute to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who was affectionately called Lilibet by those closest to her, and her middle name honors Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Lilibet is the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Their son Archie was born in 2019.
