Royal family’s ‘verdict’ following Meghan Markle’s ‘bizarre’ twerking hospital video

A recently resurfaced video featuring Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has sparked renewed controversy, with a royal expert suggesting it could further alienate the couple from the royal family.

The clip, reportedly showing Meghan — while pregnant — and Harry dancing playfully in a hospital room as they awaited the birth of Princess Lilibet, has been labeled by some critics as inappropriate and attention-seeking.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams weighed in, telling Royal Insider that the video appears to contradict the couple’s long-standing calls for privacy.

“The Sussexes howl about privacy, but come out with this. It’s surreal to release a video that simply looks odd and doesn’t align with the image they’re trying to portray — especially as Meghan seeks to be seen as a serious influencer,” Fitzwilliams said.

He also questioned the couple’s selective approach to their children’s public exposure, noting that while they often guard their children’s privacy, they make exceptions for what he perceives as promotional efforts.

“They knew close-up photos of Princess Lilibet would attract global attention. But they’re usually hesitant to share such images unless there’s a strategic reason,” he added.

While fans of the couple may view the video as lighthearted and humanizing, critics argue it sends mixed signals about their public image and intentions.

“Far too erratic to be trusted” – Royal expert slams Meghan and Harry’s latest video

Royal commentator Mr. Fitzwilliams didn’t hold back his criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest attempt at public engagement — a video of them dancing that’s now gone viral.

“The twerking video will become notorious,” he said, questioning the couple’s brand strategy.

“They made a big deal out of relaunching with a new communications team not long ago. I can’t believe they actually ran this by their advisors — it’s just bizarre.”

Mr. Fitzwilliams, clearly baffled by the decision to post a clip of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dancing suggestively online, argued the move would only hurt any remaining chances of reconciling with the royal family.

“One has to ask, what planet do both of them exist on?” he remarked, adding, “The royal family will just see this as further proof that the two of them are far too erratic to be trusted.”

What song were Meghan and Harry dancing to?

Meghan shared the previously unseen video on Instagram on Wednesday, June 4, in celebration of Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday.

In the clip, filmed when she was pregnant, Meghan and Harry are seen dancing and swaying their hips in front of a phone camera to the viral track Baby Mama Dance by Mic Drop Mama — a popular choice on social media in 2021 among expectant mothers.

Meghan captioned the post:
“Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… So when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!”
