Student shouts explicit insult about Prince Harry to Prince William and people are not impressed

A resurfaced TikTok video showing a student hurling a crude insult about Prince Harry during Prince William’s visit to a UK college has reignited online debate, with reactions ranging from laughter to outrage.

The original video, filmed earlier this year during Prince William’s visit to Bournemouth and Poole College, has recently gone viral again — now racking up over 6.5 million views and thousands of polarized comments across social media platforms.

The video captures a group of students waving at a convoy of vehicles. As one car carrying Prince William passes by, someone off-camera yells out:
“Go on, Will! I never liked Harry either — the ginger f***!”

Almost instantly, adults presumed to be school staff can be heard reprimanding the student. A woman sharply says, “Oi! Get in there, now!” while another adult adds, “Don’t you dare talk like that.”

The moment stuns nearby students, who can be heard gasping, with one audibly saying, “That was diabolical.”

TikTok Reactions: Humor, Criticism & Divided Opinions

The viral video’s overlay reads: “When Prince William comes to your college.” The creator captioned it, “Can’t believe he said that,” prompting a flood of comments.

Some users found the incident comedic or outrageous in a humorous sense.
“Anyone got Prince William’s POV?” joked one commenter.
“Absolute A-grade comedy,” another wrote.
A few dismissed the criticism entirely: “It ain’t even that bad. Why’s everyone freaking out?”

But many others condemned the remark.
“That’s just terrible behavior,” one person wrote.
“Funny how people say they don’t like someone they’ve never even met,” another added.

The Context Behind the Visit

Prince William’s visit wasn’t just ceremonial. He was at the college to highlight the work of Homewards, a five-year initiative launched by the Royal Foundation to tackle homelessness through locally-driven solutions.

Phil Sayles, Principal and CEO of Bournemouth and Poole College, reflected positively on the visit despite the controversy:
“We were really proud to have Prince William visit. He saw firsthand the inspiring work our staff are doing. Our students were thrilled to meet him.”
