The Essential Oil That Can Cure Migraines, Depression, Anxiety, and Even Can:cer

Frankincense essential oil is often called the “queen of essential oils,” and for good reason. With a long history of use across cultures, this oil has earned a reputation for its wide-ranging benefits. Personally, I use it daily for wellness, and if I had to choose only one essential oil, frankincense would be my top pick.

A Brief History of Frankincense

Historically, frankincense was highly valued by the Babylonians, Assyrians, and Egyptians for religious ceremonies, as well as for making balms and salves. Its importance is highlighted in religious texts as well, with the three wise men presenting it to the baby Jesus.

Today, we obtain frankincense essential oil from the resin of the boswellia tree, native to Africa and Asia. The resin, known as olibanum, is harvested from the bark in the form of hardened pear-shaped droplets. The quality and color of the resin vary, ranging from clear and silvery (highest quality) to yellowish-brown. Steam distillation transforms the resin into the essential oil we use today, prized for its therapeutic properties.
