Meghan Markle released new images of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, last week in honor of Father’s Day — a move some believe may be linked to promoting her lifestyle brand.
Photos Tied to Upcoming Brand Launch?
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has typically kept her two children out of the public eye. However, since rejoining social media in January, she has offered the public rare glimpses into her life as a mother. Her latest move — releasing fresh photos of Archie and Lilibet — is raising eyebrows.
According to columnist Amanda Platell in the Daily Mail, the timing might not be a coincidence. Platell questioned whether the images were meant to stir interest in the new product launch for Meghan’s brand, As Ever.
She wrote: “Might this be at all connected with yesterday’s announcement that a new set of Meghan’s domestic products — including a new line of pancakes — will be on sale through her As Ever brand in just a few days’ time? If it really is the case that Archie and Lilibet’s pictures were released to attract attention and encourage sales, then it would be truly shameful — a tawdry drive for profit by mega-bucks Meghan.”
Father’s Day Post Sparks Speculation
The Father’s Day post itself appeared carefully timed, Platell argued, as it was followed closely by the announcement of the upcoming product drop.
“The ground, it seems to me, had been prepared,” she continued. “Just a few days ago, we saw the Sussex kids in Disneyland, their faces covered on the screen by hearts. Enough of a tease in my book to make even the most cynical observers conclude this was a prelude to a ‘big reveal’.”
New Product Announcement and Newsletter Reveal
On June 16, a newsletter sent out to As Ever subscribers thanked fans for their overwhelming support of the brand’s initial launch.
“First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As Ever absolutely extraordinary,” the email read. “We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise.”
The update also revealed plans for the next product launch: “We are pleased to share that on June 20th, we’re going live with the products you love — plus, some new delicious surprises. More details and exact timing will be shared soon.”
The brand’s first release was on April 2, and within just an hour of launching, every item had sold out. That success has fueled anticipation for the upcoming June 20th collection — now possibly amplified by the rare peek Meghan gave into her private family life.
