These Plants Are Oxygen Bombs – Have at Least One of These to Clean the Air in Your Home

Most of us know that houseplants give off oxygen. But not many people realize that some plants can also help clean the air by removing mold and harmful toxins — which is great for our health.

NASA even did a study and found that some indoor plants are especially good at filtering the air and getting rid of pollutants inside our homes.

These plants can remove dust, fumes from paint, and chemicals from building materials, making the air much cleaner.

Here are 6 plants that are great to keep in your home:

Aloe Vera – This plant helps boost oxygen levels in your house. It absorbs carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and formaldehyde. It’s a powerful natural air purifier.

Ficus (Ficus Elastica) – This plant is low-maintenance and doesn’t need much sunlight. It’s very good at clearing formaldehyde from the air. But be careful if you have pets or small children — its leaves can be toxic.

English Ivy (Hedera Helix) – A must-have plant. In just 6 hours, it can remove around 58% of airborne feces particles and 60% of harmful toxins.

Spider Plant (Chlorophytum Comosum) – This one can grow even in low light and is excellent at soaking up toxins like carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, fuel fumes, and even polystyrene. One plant can purify the air in a space as big as 200 square meters.

Sansevieria (Sansevieria Trifasciata ‘Laurentii’) – Very tough and easy to care for. It works well in darker rooms and is perfect for bedrooms because it gives off oxygen at night.

Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum ‘Mauna Loa’) – A beautiful plant that removes formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, and other toxins from the air.

NASA suggests having 15–18 of these types of plants in a 500 m² area. That means for every 80 m², you should have 3 or 4 plants. And don’t forget to place one in your bedroom — you spend hours sleeping there, and clean air makes a big difference.
