Trump ‘could be removed’ from White House if he makes one ‘unpredictable’ move

Leaked messages from Donald Trump’s inner circle have sparked controversy, raising doubts about his leadership.

Political analyst Adam Boulton suggests Trump’s greatest threat may come from within—his VP, JD Vance. If Trump’s unpredictable actions, like economic turmoil or foreign conflicts, destabilize his presidency, Republicans might see Vance as a safer option to maintain power.

The challenges facing Trump’s presidency

Since returning to office, Trump has issued bold executive orders, sparking concern even among supporters.

His administration has imposed tariffs on allies, halted Ukraine aid, and deported Venezuelans to El Salvador. Moves like renaming the Gulf of Mexico and aggressive rhetoric on Greenland have drawn criticism.

Amid growing tensions, some insiders see JD Vance as a more stable alternative.

JD Vance’s complicated history with Trump

Vance, a former venture capitalist and author of Hillbilly Elegy, was once a vocal critic of Trump, even going so far as to call him “America’s Hitler.”

Over time, however, his stance changed significantly, and he has since emerged as one of Trump’s most dedicated supporters.

JD Vance’s image as a staunch Trump loyalist was shaken by the Signal group controversy and leaked messages to journalist Jeffrey Goldberg. In those conversations, Vance seemed to express mild criticism of Trump, sparking curiosity and concern among political analysts.

JD Vance, now Vice President, questioned Trump’s contradictory stance on military action, per The Atlantic. While Trump pushed for a U.S. attack on the Houthis, he also urged Europe to take on more responsibility.

Vance’s shifting views on Trump have sparked debate. Some see him as a pragmatic leader, while others doubt his ideological consistency and how he would govern if needed.

A Nation on Edge

Concerns over U.S. democracy have intensified, with experts warning of a shift away from democratic norms under Trump. Political scientist Staffan Lindberg believes this transition could have global consequences.

Former GOP communications director Tara Setmayer cautioned that the threat is being normalized, stating, “We are approaching Defcon 1 for our democracy.”

Adding to the fears, a French scientist was reportedly denied U.S. entry after officials found texts criticizing Trump’s policies. France’s education minister condemned the incident, calling it a violation of academic freedom.

How could Trump be removed from office?

If tensions in Trump’s administration escalate, he could be removed in three ways: impeachment, the 25th Amendment, or resignation.

Impeachment requires charges and a Senate conviction, though Trump survived it twice before. The 25th Amendment allows the VP and cabinet to declare him unfit, but Congress must approve by a two-thirds vote. Resignation, though unlikely, could happen under extreme political pressure, as seen with Nixon.

Would a Vance presidency bring significant change?

Even if JD Vance were to take the reins, there’s no certainty that his leadership would steer the country in a completely new direction. Many analysts believe that his close alignment with Trump suggests his presidency would largely continue the current administration’s trajectory.

No matter how things unfold in the coming months, one thing is certain: the Trump White House remains as unpredictable as ever, with the potential for internal power struggles looming. As scrutiny of the administration intensifies, all eyes will be on JD Vance—whether as Trump’s steadfast deputy or as a possible successor.
